Planning our event structures for large events in European Countries takes a lot of time and experience. This week our workshop has been a busy place as we begin our journey into Europe once again, this time to provide our event structures for one of the biggest events we have installed for in Europe. We talk to our workshop event manager Richard Ward about the strategic and logistical planning for events of this magnitude and how the preparation of our event structures is key to our success. Barcelona, here we come.

Just some of the large amount of plans for the Barcelona Event.

The large event in Barcelona will require five of our most experienced installation experts working in unison for one week. Four 20 meter inflatable domes and one 24 meter inflatable dome will be installed for an event that will take just a few hours to begin and end. Our timing and planning are crucial. We will be working far from home and far from our workshop base. Every consideration for this event requires the utmost careful planning. We have to consider every possible eventuality and plan for any unexpected hindrances that may occur.

Richard Ward is our workshop event manager and for an event of this type we turn to him to make sure everything in our workshop is picked, primed and in working order. Only then are we ready for loading everything onto a trailer that is headed for Barcelona a few days before we fly out to meet our event structures and equipment once again. Richard Ward talked to our publicist Jon Orchard and gave us this insight into the planning for this event. “Everything gets checked, several times over. Checklists are thoroughly reviewed, double checked by an assistant and then looked over once again. All of our installation equipment is subject to inspection, as is our PPE. Every electrical lead is tested, every light inspected and every event structure is installed on our grounds and cleaned for inspection. Only then do we begin to load our event structures and equipment. I love planning for large events, you’ve got to be thorough and you’ve got to be ready. Nothing is last minute. That’s not how we work.”

Photos of our event structures at this large event will be uploaded on the Evolution Dome website in the coming weeks.
